About this learning track

This 16-week Project Management curriculum introduces learners to the core principles, tools, and methodologies of managing projects successfully. It begins with the fundamentals of project management, including initiation, planning, and the triple constraint, before progressing into modern frameworks such as Agile and Scrum.

Learners will explore essential topics like risk management, budgeting, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies, while also gaining hands-on experience with project tools like Trello, Jira, and Asana.

Curriculum

Master project management principles, methodologies, and tools to successfully plan, execute, and deliver projects across diverse industries.

Week 1 - Introduction to Project Management

In this lesson you will learn the fundamentals of project management, including its definitions, history, and key principles like the triple constraint of scope, time, and cost. By the end of this lesson you should understand the foundation of project management and why these principles are essential to project success.

Week 2 - Project Initiation

In this lesson you will learn how projects are initiated, focusing on charter development, stakeholder identification, and feasibility studies. By the end of this lesson you should be able to outline a project charter and identify the key factors that determine a project’s viability.

Week 3 - Project Planning Basics

In this lesson you will learn how to define project scope, create work breakdown structures (WBS), and develop timelines using Gantt charts. By the end of this lesson you should be able to design a clear project plan that organizes tasks and schedules effectively.

Week 4 - Agile & Scrum Fundamentals

In this lesson you will learn the principles of Agile methodology, including Scrum, Kanban, and iterative development. By the end of this lesson you should understand how Agile frameworks work and when to apply them in real-world projects.

Week 5 - Risk Management

In this lesson you will learn how to identify, analyze, and plan responses to potential project risks. By the end of this lesson you should be able to prepare a basic risk management plan and propose strategies to handle uncertainties.
